We, Malungas

My project is called We, Malungas and it is a proposal to reinvent, in performance and video, black women’s stories of resistance to slavery, originally lived in the north-east of Brazil. This process of embodiment departs from a historical research to reach the present, in the context of black female migration in Portugal today, seeking to embody in other bodies yesterday’s axioms of resistance.
